Watch Your Back Natrone Means!

Sad news today as its been announced that Shawn Lee, DT of the 1994 AFC Champion San Diego Chargers has passed away at age 44.
Unbelievably he is the 6th player from that squad to meet an untimely demise.  Unfortunately it’s not as shocking as of late to hear about an ex-NFL’er passing away young and with more information coming to light regarding head injuries, most fear that we’re only going to see more and more of this.
While cause of death has yet to revealed in the case of Shawn Lee, these Chargers of ‘94 seem to have a bit of bad luck on their side.
Straight from today’s USA Today:
Super Bowl XXIX Was Bad Enough!
  • Starting LB David Griggs, 28, died in a car accident five months after the Super Bowl
  • Backup RB Rodney Culver, 26, died in a plane crash on May 11, 1996
  • Backup LB Doug Miller, 28, died after being struck by lighting in July 1998
  • Backup C Curtis Whitley, 39, died from a drug overdose on May 11, 2008
  • Starting DE Chris Mims, 38, died of heart failure on Oct. 15, 2008
So to recap, they had a drug overdose, a car accident, a plane crash and Doug Miller got struck by lightning!!
The question begs to be asked;  What did this team do to bring on so much bad luck?
If I was Stan Humphries, Alfred Pupunu or Natrone Means, I’d be worried.
